![Mission Five: [Operation: Shadow Drake]](images/shadowD2.jpg)
Welcome to the USS Shanghai, registry NCC-63384. The year is 2386. Starfleet is prospering after the Dominion war and Scimitar Incident. New ships for exploration are being mass produced. We are their protection, their guiding light. This is a glorious time for the Federation. There are many chances to help Federation citizens, as well as citizens of other nations, fostering a peaceful atmosphere.
Our missions have taken us so far to the Akilor and the Cameryion systems, each with its own unique problems. In the Akilor system, we helped settle the remnant of the Ryuu survivors, leading to confrontation, and then renewed peaceful efforts with the Sheliak. In the Cameryion system, our strange orders leave us cloaked while we watch an outpost being harassed by pirates. We've even stopped the Ryuu from invading Federation space. Currently, we are on Shoreleave. Will you come aboard at this time?
I am Relau Chlan, the Commanding Officer of the USS Shanghai. We are part of Obsidian Fleet's 21st Task Force, the Wolf Star Squadron. A new Akira Class Starship, we would like you to be part of the action. Click "Join" to start your adventure today!

Wanted to take a moment to let you all know how much I am proud of you all. It truly is a blessing to have you all!
Now, just wanted o let you all know that I hope to have this PHASE of the mission completed by the end of the month. After that, well we should have a lot more posts with our current plan of attack, and then we'll have more fun.
Sounds like we have our work cut out for us.
Have fun!

Just a quick note to tell you I am so proud of you all for the amount of posts you have amassed this month. We have about 36 hours left in the month, and you all have posted a whopping 189 posts. Thank you so much! It's the best thing that's happened to me all month, especially since I'm at Uni for the first time this month :)
Thanks again.

I'm going to hold off on submitting my monthly report for now.. I have until the end of the month to do it. We have 162 posts currently. Remember that Relau will dance for you if you get to 200 this month!
Also, in other news, I'm pleased by the way this mission is going. There's a lot of fun stuff ahead. This mission is really a stepping stone for even greater fun later on.
Let me know if you need anything, I'm always right here.

Dear Sirs,
I humbly submit my nominee for the James T. Kirk CO of the Year Award, Captain Relau Chlan of the USS Shanghai. From my time of joining the Simm 8 short months ago, Captain Chlan has proven nothing but a delight to sim with. As a Ryuu character - of his own invention I surmise - he is truly the other amongst us, an outsider even amongst the Cardassians, Klingons, Romulans and Remans who serve among us. In this he has to surmount prejudice and suspicion, and rises above these with such alacrity and good grace one cannot help but be endeared to him.
In addition, out of character, his portrayer is incredibly accommodating. He is always willing to run an idea, a sub-plot or story-arc with his players, encouraging participation by everyone through use of NPCs. He is incredibly attentive to high standards, and encourages everyone to do the same through positive reinforcement. His love of the sim is reflected in the maintaining of its homepage and the level of planning that goes into his mission. I can honestly say that I have yet to encounter a mission, or an idea put forward by my CO that I have little or no interest in. His dedication and ability are shown through the fact that the Shanghai's Manifest increases as the months go by, and hardly is there a day that goes by where someone has not posted, and there are few, if ever, any leaves of absences that are not essential and unavoidable.
I am proud to say that I am a member of the crew of the USS Shanghai, and I am certain that it is down to the monumental efforts of this man, in character and out.
Yours, respectfully,
Marine Captain Algy Berger
Marine Commanding Officer
